Short Themes

Our current Short Theme is Scottish Programming Languages Institute.

In order to adapt to an ever-changing funding landscape and to establish activities in emerging research areas we operate short-term research themes, which are initially funded for 12 months.   As with the core SICSA research themes, our short-term research themes deliver a lively schedule of meetings, seminars, workshops and master-classes throughout the year.

We encourage everyone to get involved with the SICSA short-term research themes. This could include joining the mailing list for a specific theme; attending events and meetings; or arranging your own events utilising theme funding.

Academics wishing to organise a SICSA sponsored event in their field of research can apply to the SICSA research themes for funding to cover organiser travel expenses, speaker expenses and event catering. To apply for funding, please complete a short proposal and submit to sicsa@glasgow.ac.uk.
