PhD Studentships

Between 2008 and 2015 SICSA recruited some of the very best Informatics and Computing Science students from across the world, through its Prize PhD Studentship programme.  There were over 80 SICSA funded PhD Studentships during this period.

Each SICSA student spent 3 to 4 years as part of a programme coordinated across the SICSA partners. These students helped to catalyse new collaborations across the Informatics and Computing Science research community, and following their graduation many are leading the next generation of Computing researchers.

The SICSA Prize PhD Studentship programme has now come to an end, but we continue to work with our partners, funding bodies and the Government to develop new opportunities for PhD Funding in Computing for Scotland.

The stories below demonstrate how SICSA Prize PhD Studentship funding changed the lives of 3 talented researchers.
