SICSA Programming Challenges

Date/Time
Date(s) - 17/06/2020
12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

As a follow-on to the successful first HWU Programming Challenge in mid-May, another SICSA wide challenge is scheduled on the 17th June 2020.

This programming challenge will be an opportunity for students to test and exercise your programming skills, which will be useful in preparing for the next academic year. It will consist of a sequence of programming tasks that are posted through OpenKattis. Each successfully solved problem will gain points, and the overall highest scoring student will be the winner of the challenge. There will be prizes at the end of the competition: 100 GBP for the winner, 50 GBP for the runner up, and a judges’ price of 50 GBP.

There is no need to register for the event. The contest will be setup a few days before the scheduled data, and sign-up is possible from that point onwards or directly when starting the competition. We would encourage participants to take a look at the screencast on the website to familiarise themselves with the system. To learn about usage of the system, problems can be solved directly (outside a contest) and be submitted for validation. setup of the programming challenge.

The platform being used is OpenKattis  and a screencast about basic OpenKattis usage can be found here.

More information about the challenge can be found here.

Details with a direct link to the contest, and links to a Zoom and Teams meeting rooms for questions will be sent this week.
