Following the success of last year’s event in Glasgow, The Scottish Informatics & Computer Science Alliance (SICSA) is hosting “Engaging the Next Generation 2013”, a showcase of Scottish Computer Science education featuring academic exhibitors and careers specialists from 14 Scottish Higher Education Computing Schools. The 2013 event will take place on 25th April 2013 from 1700-1900 at the University of Edinburgh, Informatics Forum, Crichton Street, Edinburgh, EH8 9AB.
We are delighted to invite employers Computing graduates to this event, where you will be able to:
•Find out about the wide range of outcomes from Computing programmes taught in Scottish Universities;
•Engage directly with academics and careers specialists from each department;
•Learn more about the technical and interpersonal skill-sets offered by Scottish Computing graduates in 2013;
•Explore opportunities for direct contact with Scottish Computing departments through:
-Placement schemes;
-Careers advice and recruitment sessions;
-Industrial advisory boards.
The Scottish Informatics and Computer Science Alliance (SICSA) is a Scottish Funding Council research pool linking the Computing departments in 14 of Scotland’s Universities.
SICSA Universities are involved in virtually all areas of computer science and informatics from low-level hardware design, through networking and middleware, to wetware, artificial intelligence, human computer interaction and social informatics. We are world leaders in both theoretical and practical aspects of these disciplines and work closely with industry and government to exploit this know-how and technology. Recent activities have focused on green ICT, cloud computing, smart tourism, creative media, data security, next generation internet, complex systems and sensors.
