SHSC Conference & Training Centre, Edinburgh

The MMI theme would like to invite you to the 2013 All Hands Meeting to be held at the University of Edinburgh on Friday, 17th May. Since the last MMI All Hands Meeting a number of new researchers and students have joined the MMI theme, so it will be a great opportunity to welcome some new faces and get together to see what’s going on across SICSA.

The agenda is flexible at this stage but we have lined up some great speakers including:
Prof. Joeman Jose – http://www.dcs.gla.ac.uk/~jj/
Prof. Simon King – http://homepages.inf.ed.ac.uk/simonk/
Dr. Julie Williamson – http://www.juliericowilliamson.com/index.html

Following its success last year, we plan to hold another madness session where students, postdocs and staff will have two minutes to present their research with rapid fire slides, followed by a poster/demo session over lunch. This is a great way to get feedback on your latest work. There will be a £150 prize for the best student poster.

We are also pleased to confirm that we will be joined by some exciting start-ups from the local community including Quorate Technology and CereProc, who will discuss their technologies and share their experiences of transitioning from academia to industry.

The All Hands meeting is a lively and informal gathering, and a great way for you to showcase your work to leading MMI researchers. This is your community and we strongly urge you to fully participate to get the most out of the day.
