Come along and hear . . . how Barry came to be a (Business) Angel, the history of Archangels, how/why it started and achievements to date.

Barry will share his thoughts on the current funding/start-up environment in Scotland and how he would like to see it develop in the future.

Doors open at 5:45pm with food & networking. The talk begins at 6:30pm sharp. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and then at 7:30pm enjoy some refreshments and nibbles.

About our speaker:
Barry E Sealey, CBE
Barry Sealey was born in Bristol, educated in Gloucestershire and did National Service in the RAF. After graduating with a first class degree in Science and Engineering from Cambridge University, he spent his full-time working career with Christian Salvesen, starting as a trainee in 1958, and in 1981 becoming Group Managing Director. He retired from that company in 1990 and has since served as chairman or non-executive director of a number of companies.

Over the last twenty years he has been an active Business Angel, providing, with others, investment, general advice and practical support to young companies. He was co-founder of the Archangel Investment Syndicate which is the oldest and most active Business Angel group in Scotland, and which has since 1992 invested in some 80 companies, creating over 1,000 jobs.
Between 1994 and 2002 he served as chairman of leading NHS Trusts in the Edinburgh area.
