SICSA Cyber Nexus is pleased to be supporting the forthcoming Improving Gender Balance in Cyber Security Industry which will take place on Friday 3 May at Glasgow Caledonian University
By 2022, there will be 100,000 unfilled cyber security jobs in the UK. Currently only 8% of European cyber security staff are women, giving a huge untapped workforce. This meeting, for managers from business units that recruit cyber security staff and staff from further education, will consider what it takes to recruit and retain women in cyber security posts. We will discuss both measures for individual organisations and possible communal actions we could take to improve the gender balance of the sector within Scotland.
The agenda for the event will be:
12:00 – 12:15 | Registration |
12:15 – 12:20 | Welcome, Jackie Riley, Glasgow Caledonian University |
12:20 – 12:35 | The barriers women face in ICT employment |
12:35 – 12:50 | What it takes to change a culture |
12:50 – 13:40 | Discussion of actions we could take as a sector |
13:40 – 14:00 | Networking |
Food will be provided for this working lunch. Please contact the organiser, Jean Carletta with any special dietary requirements. Attendance is free but you should register at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/improving-gender-balance-in-the-cyber-security-industry-tickets-57784828979
