Heriot-Watt University will host a Hackathon on Phase III of the SICSA MultiCore Challenge, on Thursday 14th Aug, from 12:00 till late. Everyone interested in joining the hacking activities, or getting started with a parallel implementation is welcome to join.

To register, send an email to Hans-Wolfgang Loidl.

The SICSA MultiCore challenge is an initiative of the SEMANTICS sub-theme to compare systems for parallel programming on (networks of) multi-cores. Challenge applications have been posted, and researchers in the area are invited to use their favourite systems to implement it.

The challenge application for Phase III is the Maximum Clique graph problem.

Details on the MultiCore Challenge problem and the Hackathon itself (agenda, directions etc) can be found at the Challenge Wiki.  This event is a continuation of previous activities, as Phases I and II, also documented on the Wiki.

The event is sponsored by the SICSA mini-theme CoCo (Communication-based Computation).
