SICSA Cyber Nexus is delighted to be sponsoring Industrial Distinguished Visiting Fellow Christine Herman, Technology Lead for Morgan Stanley’s Computer Incident Response Team (MSCIRT).
This workshop is designed to bring together academics from the SICSA cybersecurity community and representatives from Morgan Stanley, to discuss the cybersecurity issues facing industry and consider the research challenges. Christine Herman, Technology Lead for Morgan Stanley’s Computer Incident Response Team (MSCIRT), will provide an insight into the general challenges faced by industry, which we will use to consider the role that academia can play in addressing these.
Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Christine began her career in information assurance, serving as a threat analyst in the U.S. Government where she led special project teams across the Intelligence Community in pursuit of national objectives. After several years in digital network intelligence, Christine redefined her career to cyber operations, graduating at the top of her class in an advanced network operations program following intense study at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPGS), the University of Maryland, and Johns Hopkins University. As a Technical Director Christine was responsible for defining enterprise strategy to develop teams of world-class operations specialists, and implementing tactical solutions in highly challenging mission areas. Christine currently leverages her broad skill set and experience to support teams across Morgan Stanley’s cybersecurity department to create development models and to prototype innovative solutions for the Firm. For her outstanding contributions, she was recently recognized as the Morgan Stanley’s Women In Technology (WIT) 2018 Technical Leader of the Year.”
