Summer school contributions
For SICSA sponsored summer schools, SICSA will normally cover the costs at the standard rates for all PhD students from Scottish universities who attend. For budgeting purposes, we will have to set a notional ceiling on the contribution but, will increase this if more students attend than anticipated and budget is available at the time of the summer school.
It is important that you are realistic in your estimates of attendance from Scottish PhD students. To help you estimate numbers, information about attendees for 2009 summer schools is here. There was no summer school with more than 20 attendees from Scotland.We will guarantee a minimum contribution towards the organisational costs if fewer students attend than anticipated. Details of this are still being reviewed but it will be based on your assumptions of the number of students who will attend. We will tell you the minimum contribution when we respond to your proposal.
