Enterprise and Entrepreneurship for Researchers, 22-24 June 2009
SICSA has reserved 15 place for Scottish PhD students of Computing Science and Informatics to attend this residential course at the Westerwood Hotel near Glasgow. The course will also be attended by PhD students from the SUPA (the Scottish Universities Physics Alliance) and SINAPSE (the Scottish Imaging Network) and all speakers and case studies will be chosen to be relevant to these three groups of students. Knowledge transfer and research commercialisation are no longer something 'extra' but are becoming an integral part of academic life and you're expected to demonstrate that you are engaging with this agenda when applying for funding.
Attendance is free (SICSA will pay for participation on the course as well as accommodation costs). Your University should pay your travel costs.
Please see the flyer for further details and the full programme and follow the sign up instructions below if you would like to attend.
The initial allocation of places will be completed on Monday 25 May 2009 and anyone who has signed up by then should expect to receive confirmation of whether they have been given a place or not by the end of that week.
*Update on 5 June 2009* There are still 2 places left.
