SICSA M & A Research Theme workshop:  Probabilistic Modelling of Urban Transportation Systems

This workshop is intended to bring together researchers who are interested in the probabilistic modelling of urban transportation systems. One particular development motivating this workshop is the increasing availability of operational data owing to the emergence of ‘smart’ public transportation. A question that we are particularly interested in is the use of data to inform the construction and parameterisation of probabilistic models.

We have two great speakers lined up:

* Güneş Erdoğan from the University of Bath, who will present recent work on redistribution strategies in bicycle-sharing systems –
* Oliver O’Brien from Batty’s CASA group at University College London, who will present his work on data visualisation and analysis of bicycle-sharing systems, including the UCL CASA Bike Share Map – http://bikes.oobrien.com/global.php

Regarding the other talks – if you’d be interested in giving a talk, please indicate your interest by reserving the appropriate ticket. We aim to start finalising the program 3 weeks before the workshop date.
