This year’s SICSA HCI All-hands Meeting will be special.

As you know, ACM CHI 2019 is in Glasgow, and the Programme Committee meeting, although remote, still means that the programme sub-committee chairs are coming to Scotland for their Programme Committee meeting.

In preparation, on December 6th, the Scottish Informatics and Computer Science Alliance (SICSA) will hold an all-hands event to which many of the Subcommittee Chairs for the ACM CHI 2019 meeting will be invited.

This is a great opportunity for HCI researchers in Scotland to showcase our world-leading work to the international community, and for us to learn and interact with some of the leading HCI researchers from all corners of the world.

There will be a poster session and many presentations on cutting-edge Human-computer Interaction Research.

Schedule:

9:45 to 10:00 – Coffee and welcome @room 1.33a+b, Jack Cole Building, School of Computer Science, KY169SX, St Andrews

10:00 to 13:00 – Presentations by ACM CHI Subcommittee Chairs and SICSA HCI-sub theme topics (with breaks)

13:00 to 14:30 – Lunch + Student Poster and Demo Session

14:30 to 15:30 – SICSA HCI Town Hall

A small number of seats back to Glasgow on the same bus taking ACM SCs to the PC meeting will be available for SICSA attendees, leaving at 14:00. For any inquiries write to mans@st-andrews.ac.uk.

Attendance is free but you must register!

Why not just sign up now? This is a once-in-a-career opportunity!

We are looking forward to seeing you all in St Andrews!

The event is being organised by Dr Miguel Nacenta,  former SICSA HCI Theme Co-Lead, and a co-founder of the St Andrews Human-Computer Interaction group (SACHI)
